 The “Preach the Word” Conference begins tomorrow in Columbia, South Carolina. Some of the speakers include Alistair Begg, Ligon Duncan, and Sinclair Ferguson. The event is sponsored by the Institute for Reformed Worship of Erskine Theological Seminary.

Worldview: Hunger Can Make You Happy |

 A story connecting hunger, happiness, and evolution appeared in Live Science recently. “Contrary to the moans of many dieters, being hungry may make you happy. Or, at least, it can be a serious motivator whose evolutionary intent was to help you find dinner instead of becoming dinner. When our bodies notice we need more calories, levels of a hormone called ghrelin increase. Ghrelin is known to spur hunger, but new research suggests this may be a side effect of its primary job as a stress-buster.”Write Comment (3 Comments) |

 There is yet another defection from the authority of Scripture in the evangelical communion in the form of invoking Scripture to defend homosexuality. The Archbishop of Armagh asserted not too long ago that “reason” may be applied to Scripture texts that seem to condemn homosexuality so that a different interpretation may be gleaned.  The Todd Bentley story is an object lesson for the church as a whole with particular reference to false prophets in our midst with their accompanying deception. Such a story ought to awaken the church to the serious and spiritual issues involved in so-called ministries of this kind.  "Calling for Truth" is a live, call-in, radio talk show, hosted by Dr. Paul Dean. The show deals with issues related to theology, cultural engagement, biblical counseling, church reform, and Christian living.
The broadcast airs each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Eastern Time on "Christian Talk 660", a 50,000 watt radio station covering South Carolina, and parts of North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
