Christians must continue to call for a return to the biblical and constitutional concept of religious freedom. Erosion of that lynchpin for a free society is rapidly increasing. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

9/11 Events – An Act of God’s Judgment? |

The following article was written by Pastor Doug Sukhia.
The terrible events of 9/11 have led many to ask the question, “Why did this happen?” Specifically, was it simply the evil acts of people full of deep hate for America, or was it also an act of God’s judgment on America for its many sins — a “wake up call” warning us to repent?
Jerry Falwell raised this issue on the “700 Club ” on September 13, 2001. Falwell stated his belief that God had lifted His curtain of protection allowing this to happen because of His displeasure with the evil in our nation. He said, “The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, the abortionists, the feminists and the gays and lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, people for the American Way. . . all of them who have tried to secularize America. . . I point the finger in their face and say ‘You helped this happen.’” Write Comment (1 Comments) |

Adapted from a William Shakespeare line, the sentiment that politics makes strange bedfellows is accurate quite often. The AP reports that “Republican Sen. John McCain says he would consider speaking at Bob Jones University, a school he criticized during the 2000 presidential campaign for its ban on interracial dating and anti-Catholic views.” Noting changes in policy statements concerning interracial dating, McCain said, “I understand they have made considerable progress.” Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Hitler's Treatment of Scripture: Not Uncommon |

One of the most sad and despicable figures in world history is Adolph Hitler. So well-known are his crimes that only the most obtuse would argue with that pervasive affirmation. His tyranny extended across German national borders, throughout his own land, and into the German state church. It is not surprising that he altered the Scriptures to suit his own maniacal agenda. Bearers of Truth Regardless of Context |

Christians deal in truth, not error, half-truth, hearsay, or speculation. The cause of Christ is hindered when Christians fail to articulate a faithful biblical position, when they fail to explicate Scripture carefully, or when they speak to issues and fail to examine facts or evidence and simply speak out of narrow personal experience. A primary reason Christians leaders garner little hearing these days is their propensity to speak in such a specious way. Write Comment (3 Comments) |
