Live from the Ligonier ConferenceMr. Ravi Zacharias

Today is the first day of Ligonier Ministries 2007 National Conference, entitled: “Contending For The Truth”. Speakers at this years conference include: John MacArthur, Albert Mohler, John Piper, Ravi Zacharias, and of course, RC Sproul.

The brochure for the conference states: “Today we live in a culture nearly identical to Paul’s own. Society erects altars to various gods including naturalism, materialism, and relativism, as well as “spiritualities” of all kinds. The exclusivity of Christ is viewed as scandalous, and Christians increasingly find that the culture is determined to silence us, all the while exalting “tolerance” and “open-mindedness.” …. As never before in our generation, contending for the faith requires that we are able to give solid reasons for our hope.”

This year, in part due to the overwhelming amount of registrations for the conference (6,000+) Ligonier Ministries is providing a free live webcast of the conference. To view the web cast live go to: http://www.ligonier.org/conferences_national.php

On today’s “Calling For Truth” Radio Program, we will be airing the live audio from the opening session of the conference. The opening session will feature Ravi Zacharias speaking about “Postmodernism and Philosophy”.

Mr. Ravi Zacharias, for more than thirty-four years, has presented the truth of Christ and defended the Gospel in arenas all around the world. He is the chairman and CEO of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, which focuses on apologetics, evangelism, and leadership development from its offices in Canada, India, the Middle East, Singapore, the United States, and Great Britain. Mr. Zacharias is presently a visiting professor at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, England, and can be heard teaching on his weekly radio program, Let My People Think, which is broadcast worldwide on over 1500 radio stations. He has written several books including Can Man Live Without God?, Jesus Among Other Gods, and Walking from East to West: God in the Shadows.

After listening to the opening session we will open up the phone lines during the last segment of the Radio Program for discussion about the address. You are welcome to join the conversation 1.888.660.9535.
