Think, Discover, Impact
![]() One of the calls we have constantly issued on "Calling for Truth" is for Christians to learn to think, and to think biblically. Of course, not only is such a dynamic demanded by virtue of our allegiance to Christ, but right thinking produces right living, gives weight to our witness, and glorifies God. And yet, the sad truth is that too many who name the Name of Christ are not only failing to think biblically in connection with their own spiritual walk before God, but they are failing to do so in such a way that not only are they unable to engage our pluralistic culture for Christ, but they are actually given to embracing cultural, worldly, wisdom. How can we expect to impact not only our culture but the nations if we cannot or will not think biblically? How can we have eternal impact in the lives of others if we fail at this very point?
This subject is on my mind for at least two reasons. First, this week I am in Boston, among other things, teaching some of the young people in our church to think about God, the world, and man from a biblical perspective. Second, I am spending time with some of the leadership and students from Boston Baptist College.
Boston Baptist College is a distinctively biblical training center in the context of America's greatest university city. The five acre campus is just minutes away from world renowned educational and cultural facilities. The mission statement of the College is profound: "Think Biblically, Discover Globally, and Impact Eternally."
These are no mere words. The leadership at the College is committed to theological training with application in terms of biblical apologetic and biblical counseling. They are committed to global discovery with a hands on missions emphasis via an annual international study trip among other things. Local impact is not forsaken with many of the students committed to church planting and all committed to a life of Christian ministry. The goal is eternal impact. Pluralism is alive and well in Boston. Pluralism is alive and well in your city. On today's edition of "Calling for Truth," we will be speaking with some of the students and staff of Boston Baptist College about an emphasis upon these three great dynamics -- thinking biblically, discovering globally, and impacting eternally -- and how you can inculcate them into your own lives and engage the world in which God has placed you.
